Risks of Alpine Hiking on Protected Climbing Routes
Šupka, Matěj ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Risks of Alpine Hiking on Protected Climbing Routes Aims: The aim of this thesis was to assess the risk factors of alpine hiking on protected climbing routes based on a current literature review. Methods: The primary sources were articles from the Web of Science and EBSCO databases. Results and conclusions: The total accident rate on protected climbing routes in Austria amounted to 1684 cases from 2008 to 2018. It was found that great progress has been made in terms of equipment and safety on protected climbing routes together with technical advancements in gear. The current equipment represents groundbreaking technology that significantly reduces the occurrence of serious injuries during this activity. However, when using fall absorbers, younger and lighter climbers are still at a higher risk of injury. Keywords: Via ferrata, alpine hiking, klettersteig, equipment, safety, trekking

PTÁČNÍKOVÁ, Dominika
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the factors influencing the motivation for alpine tourism for men and women aged 20-45 years. The subject of the survey was a research sample of 921 respondents, which consisted of 614 women and 307 men. In the theoretical part of the work, I drew from Czech and foreign literature and commonly available sources, which were subjected to content analysis of literary works. In this part, the work deals primarily with the concept of motive, needs, motivation and motivation for alpine tourism. It also aims to define the concept of alpine tourism and its subcategories. The last chapter of the theoretical part of the individual is devoted to the developmental specifics of adulthood levels. The research part consists of the evaluation of the results of an anonymous questionnaire of our own design, which was filled in by a part of the Czech population, which combines love and experience with alpine tourism. 921 questionnaires were collected and subsequently evaluated, while the achieved results are presented in the work in the form of tables and graphs supplemented by a brief commentary. The results of the survey show that men in the percentage of 33,4 % represented a minority of respondents, even when comparing individual age categories. Another finding was that people with tertiary education make up, with a score of 59,5 %, a substantial part of the alpine population. In terms of motivation, it was revealed that the most important motivation for alpine tourism is the enjoyment of the landscape. Landscape enjoyment was chosen by 80,5 % of the participants in the questionnaire survey as a key motivation for alpine tourism. Keys words: motivation, mountain hiking, nature, maturity, health

Mountain trekking in diabetic patients treated with an insulin pump
Bytelová, Sophie ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Mountain tourism for diabetics with an insulin pump Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out whether it is suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus treated with an insulin pump to undergo physical activity in the form of mountain tourism, as the more intense physical aktivity affects blood glucose levels and whether patients are able to work with advanced insulin pump functions. Methods: The work is conceived as an observational study of the Medtronic educational project. One day mountain hike trip of a distance about 30 km was attended by 40 patients (men and women) with diabetes aged 15-25 years. Non-invasive methods were used. The data was obtained by monitoring insulin pump probes, glucometers and continuous monitoring, which were further evaluated using the CareLink Pro software. Results: Physical activity in the form of mountain tourism is suitable for patients with DM1 treated on an insulin pump. 80% of the probands did not have a risk status of hypoglycaemia, and even though the determined normoglycemia for research was performed by a larger number of adults as opposed to children, this FA has a demonstrable effect on blood glucose levels. It also brings positive benefits for patients because they learn how to work better with advanced insulin pump functions....
Problematics of mountaineers' nutrition
Honzejková, Kateřina ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Vágnerová, Tereza (referee)
Nutrition of both professional and occasional climbers in high altitude is often discussed topic in sports nutrition. Specially with latest studies showing connection between poor nutrition and high altitude sickness development. Dehydration in particular has a huge effect on the body at these altitudes and can be responsible for many of the symptoms previously attributed to hypoxia. The research was focused on the theoretical part, in which basic issue of nutrition and hydration are shown, as well as the acute issues that climbers may have experience on their journey to high altitude. The practical part was evaluated by a quantitative approach with the help of a questionnaire survey and its evaluation. The questionnaire was anonymous, nonstandardized with open and closed questions. A total of 68 respondents participated in the research. The results of the investigation are evaluated and discussed in the final parts of the thesis. The main objective of the thesis was focused on the dietary habits of respondents during their stay in high altitude, their awareness of the risks resulting from poor nutrition and dehydration and assess how much care respondents take about nutrition and hydration during their travels. Four hypotheses were set for the thesis. Key words: Nutrition; hydratation; acute...
